Tana Pesso has been an executive coach and management consultant for 38 years. During the past 34 years Ms. Pesso has specialized almost exclusively in executive coaching and management development. In her early years Ms. Pesso worked as a management consultant at Urban Systems Research & Engineering in Cambridge, MA focusing primarily on management and public policy studies for federal education and assistance programs. She then joined GoodMeasure, Inc., which was founded by Barry Stein and Harvard Business School Professor Rosabeth Moss Kanter, where she specialized in organizational analysis. After developing her own unique approach to transformative executive coaching, Executive Performance Analysis, she began a private consulting practice in 1985, and has specialized in providing contextual, analytical, and motivation-based coaching for senior executives ever since.

In 2003, Ms. Pesso created MetaMentor, a 28-day audio-guided program that simulates a coach’s activity and support while assisting a client to establish a desired new work habit or behavior. During free beta tests on iTunes, the program proved immensely popular rising to rank 3rd in the Career category and 32nd in Business overall.  The program also underwent a small successful pilot test at Harvard University’s Hauser Center for Non-Profits and two other successful pilot tests with participants in the Executive Education program at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.  Ms. Pesso is currently developing a smart phone application of MetaMentor for the mass market.

Since 1998 Ms. Pesso has been fortunate to study closely under many of the most profound Tibetan Buddhist masters and has drawn lessons from their approaches and techniques for reducing mental distractions and increasing peace of mind and feelings of compassion.  In 2010, Wisdom Publications published her book of 40 simple compassion practices and meditation techniques  with a foreword by the Dalai Lama and co-authored with her root guru, the late H.H. Penor Rinpoche.

Ms. Pesso’s undergraduate and graduate degrees are from Harvard College and Harvard University respectively.
